The Alexandria New Year Church Bombing the Tip of the Ice Berg Emotions are High on all Sides







In Alexandria Christian youths clashed with police, chanting, "With our blood and soul, we redeem the cross,"
The explanation of this murderous bombing lie in the perception that the government had bent backward over and over to appease the Christians and that the Coptic church under the leadership of Pope Shenouds had become defacto a state within state.
The Christians enjoy many privileges that Muslims don't enjoy like Coptic news papers "Watani" with political Christian political activism as well church sponsored hospitals where Muslims are forbidden to have neither their own newspapers or hospitals.
With such feeling of powerlessness that extreme elements of murdering find fertile ground to flourish and commit such despicable bombing with 21 being killed.
On the other hand the vicious epidemic cursing of al-Quraan and prophet Muhammad by Egyptian Christian Copts in their blog and chat lines generate hatred and resentment.
The answer to this growing menace is a fair approach and the government abandoning the image of continuing capitulation to the Coptic church and its head Shenouda.
Turning the point from historic diplomacy by the Egyptian Copts to street demonstration and belting the police with missiles and rocks is unproductive and un-winning approach.
The Alexandria church that held the prayer is gigantic and looks like a castle in the mean time the Copts can't stop weeping about building churches in Egypt.
The Islamic center of Massachuseets in Boston took 10 years of court battles and smear before it was finally built.
